The contemporary fashion system operates within a constantly evolving global context, shaped by technological innovation, new consumption models, sustainability concerns, and increasing market complexity. Understanding and managing these changes is now essential in order to develop effective strategies and build solid, competitive business models. Successfully managing a fashion brand means creating strong, recognizable, and valuable brands capable of standing out in an increasingly complex international landscape.

The city of Florence and the Italian territory represent a privileged context for studying the fashion system, thanks to their manufacturing tradition, project culture, and the creative excellence that has long defined Made in Italy. The Master in Fashion Business is embedded in this environment as a space for education and experimentation, offering a concrete and contemporary vision of the fashion industry.

The Master in Fashion Business was created to respond to the transformations that are redefining the sector on a global scale, offering students a strategic perspective that integrates managerial, economic, and creative skills. The programme fosters an entrepreneurial mindset capable of interpreting the present and anticipating the future of the fashion system, providing practical tools to lead fashion companies and projects in complex and competitive contexts.

The contemporary fashion system requires professionals who can integrate creativity with managerial rigor. For this reason, the Master addresses key themes such as innovation, sustainability, data analysis, cost and margin management, the development of responsible business models, and brand strategies. The goal is to train professionals capable of making informed strategic decisions, with a holistic vision that connects product, brand identity, communication, distribution, and global markets.

The structure of the Master is organised into progressive phases. The main areas of study include:

  • Contemporary Fashion Culture – Analysis of the contemporary fashion system and its cultural and market contexts.
  • Fashion Marketing and Management – Brand strategies, marketing, and business management in the fashion and luxury sectors.
  • Visual Techniques for Business – Visual and communication tools for project analysis and presentation.
  • Fashion Business – In-depth exploration of the strategic and economic processes of the fashion system.
  • Product Management – Development and management of fashion products throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Fashion Brand Management – Brand identity building, positioning, communication, and market relationships.

The final phase of the programme involves the development of a Field Project based on a real brief, in which students apply the skills acquired in a practical way, engaging with contemporary processes, strategies, and challenges within the fashion system.

Upon completion, graduates are prepared to pursue careers across different areas of the fashion system, working within established companies, emerging brands, or independent entrepreneurial projects, equipped with a comprehensive strategic vision and practical tools to navigate the global market.
