Fusion Point, the academic initiative in which IED Barcelona participates, along with Esade and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), has won the Emprende MetaRedX 2025 International Award for Entrepreneurial Innovation. The winner of the award was announced at an online ceremony held on 17 July, where Fusion Point also received a Special Mention in the same category (Entrepreneurial Innovation).

The MetaRedX 2025 International Emprende Award is a recognition bestowed by the Universia Foundation to the most outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship projects presented by Ibero-American universities through the MetaRed collaborative initiative.

The Fusion Point programme is designed to foster applied research and promote new pedagogical methodologies aimed at offering real solutions to global challenges that impact organisations and society. Over the past 10 years IED has been participating in the initiative, work has been developed with nearly 500 students from more than 14 countries, uniting design, technology, management and engineering in a unique and transformative educational experience.

Fusion Point is part of the Design Factory Global Network (DFGN), an international alliance of innovation hubs, universities and research centres spread across five continents.
