IED Barcelona inaugurates 2023-2024 academic year with undergraduate programme students

The new students were able to orient themselves with the IED universe

On Friday, 15 September, the academic year at IED Barcelona officially began for first year students of the Degrees in Design, BA (Hons) and IED Diplomas with the celebration of Welcome Event. The activity was divided into two parts: a first institutional part during which the new students could meet the management and academic team of the Barcelona school and listen to a speech by Giovanni Ottonello, IED Group Art Director, and a second festive part where students from other courses joined together around a guest DJ.

Later, from 18 to 22 September, the students took part in Welcome Week, an orientation event with the IED universe, during which they conducted various activities and workshops in an atmosphere of community co-creation.

Students from the Master in Yacht Design at IED Torino travelled to Barcelona to take part in a week of workshops alongside two recent Alumni from the Transportation Design programme at IED Barcelona. The experience included a visit to the De Antonio Yachts studio and a sailing trip.

Aaron Gonzalo, an alumnus of IED Kunsthal Bilbao, has been awarded a Silver Delta Medal for his project X-plorer, while, in the professional category, four projects developed by faculty members from IED Barcelona have received Delta Awards.
