The experience helped to activate and put into practice the applied knowledge in an exercise that intertwined architecture, design and artistic installation

On 24 October, 13 students studying Motion Graphics, Interior Design and Product Design at IED Barcelona participated in “Yamaha Light Meeting Point”, an educational workshop on light, colour and public workspaces.

Organised by the Japanese firm and the Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB), in collaboration with the studio of IED teacher Bet Cantallops, Saeta Estudi, and with Pere Ortega as workshop facilitator, the event took place in the MediaTIC building located in Barcelona’s 22@ district.

The day consisted of two parts: one focused on studying the use of colour, light and public workspaces, immediately followed by five students chosen from IED to take up the challenge of coming up with ideas for an ephemeral lighting installation that Yamaha, the main sponsor of Llum BCN 2024, will present at the festival between 2 and 4 February. The experience helped to activate and put into practice the applied knowledge in an exercise that intertwined architecture, design and artistic installation
