The second semester of the year has been marked by a rich program of extracurricular activities organized by IED Madrid, including museum visits, artist talks, a stress management workshop, and an intimate Sofar Sounds concert.

In April, IED Madrid students kicked off their cultural journey at Dopa Café, a space reserved exclusively for the group, where they enjoyed light refreshments and attended an introductory talk on the itinerary “Carabanchel: A Neighborhood Full of Art and History.” The day continued with a visit to a local artist’s studio, offering a firsthand look at their work and an open conversation about their creative process. Students also explored several art galleries in Carabanchel, immersing themselves in one of Madrid’s most vibrant contemporary art districts.

Later that month, the group had the opportunity to attend a guided tour in English at MUSEO SOLO, a private collection showcasing works by both emerging and established artists across a variety of disciplines—from painting and sculpture to artificial intelligence and digital art.

In May, the activities continued with a guided tour in Spanish of the Reina Sofía Museum, Spain’s leading museum of modern and contemporary art, where students deepened their understanding of 20th-century art history.

Also in May, students participated in a workshop on managing academic and personal stress, aimed at providing tools to identify stressors and improve emotional well-being.

The term concluded with a special event from the Sofar Sounds series, an intimate concert featuring independent artists performing in a warm and relaxed setting—offering attendees a unique and memorable musical experience.
