Date

14 December 2022

Giusi Lara, Managing Director of IED Madrid, presented this award together with Javier Bardón, director of Notodofilmfest

On the night of December 13, the Cines Callao in the heart of Madrid hosted the Notodofilmfest awards gala, a short film festival that is already a reference in the sector in Spain. This edition was also the 20th anniversary of the festival, which made it an even more special event.

A night full of emotion, art, talent, diversity, stories, new and consolidated professionals of the film industry, familiar faces and new promises.

For the tenth year the Istituto Europeo di Design has collaborated with this festival with the IED Madrid Award for Best Art Direction. An award that, in this edition, was won by Kris Tsai for her work in the short film MAPÁ.

In MAPÁ Alex, exhausted after having to battle with the public administration, comes home and discovers that someone has shit on his doormat. MAPÁ is a story about love, understanding, generosity, companionship and unconditional dedication.

Giusi Lara, Managing Director of IED Madrid, together with Javier Bardón, director of Notodofilmfest, were in charge of presenting the award.

Before giving the award, Giusi Lara dedicated a few words to the festival, congratulating them for these twenty years of existence, and to the nominees, whom she referred to as "artists who, through your art, cinematography, share a vision, give voice and face to a reality and above all, create culture, which will always be the best legacy that an artist can leave to society".

She also congratulated the teams of the four finalist nominations and thanked them "for your contribution with which, in so few minutes of footage, you gather so much feeling, soul, understanding and, above all, with which you make us enjoy so much".

The winner, Kris Tsai, will enjoy a full scholarship for a summer course at the IED Madrid Summer School.
